The Items tab

The Items tab is a list on the left and an editor on the right. Search at the top matches the title, username, folder and websites of an item as you type. New item starts a blank one. The list is sorted by title and shows the username and folder under each title.

While the vault is open the list refreshes about every 30 seconds with anything other computers have written to the shared folder.

Kinds

Kind is the first field of every item:

Kind	Typical use
Login	A website or app account (the default).
Server (SSH)	A server you connect to; adds host, port, SSH private key and the pinned server key. See AI agents.
Secure note	Text you want encrypted.
Payment card	Card details, using More fields for the number, expiry and code.
Identity	Personal details, passport numbers and so on.
SSH key	A key pair kept on its own.
API key	A token for a web API; adds How the key is sent.
Software license	A license key and where it came from.
Wi-Fi network	A network name and password.
Document	A note that mainly carries an attached file.

The kind changes which extra fields appear; it does not change what is encrypted (everything is).

Fields every item has

Title and Folder. Folders are plain text: type the same folder name on several items to group them. Leave it empty for none.
Username with Copy.
Password with Show/Hide, Copy and Generate (see Password generator).
Websites (one per line). The browser extension fills a login only on these sites, so put the address of the sign-in page here. A site without https:// is taken as https://.
One-time code secret (TOTP). See One-time codes.
Notes.
More fields: Add a field adds a Name and Value pair. Hidden/Visible controls whether the value is shown like a password; each has its own Copy and Remove.
Available to AI agents (they can ask to use it, never see it). See AI agents.

Server (SSH) fields

Server (host name or address) and the port (22 if empty); SSH private key (instead of, or as well as, the password), blurred until you choose Show; Key passphrase; and Server key (pinned on first use), which the app fills in the first time an AI agent connects to the server and which you can Clear if the server's key legitimately changed.

API key fields

How the key is sent chooses how an AI agent's call carries the token: Authorization: Bearer (most APIs), Basic (username and key), a header such as Header X-API-Key, or a Query parameter. The token itself goes in the Password field.

Copying secrets

Every Copy button puts the value on the clipboard and clears it again after 30 seconds, unless you have copied something else in the meantime. Locking the vault also clears a secret that is still on the clipboard.

Saving, and edits from elsewhere

Choose Save when you are done. Only the fields you changed are written, so an edit made on another computer to a different field of the same item is kept. If the item changes under you while you are editing, a note tells you so; saving still applies only your changed fields.

Earlier passwords

When you change an item's password (by hand, with the generator, or when the browser extension saves a new one), the old value is kept. Open Earlier passwords (N) at the bottom of the editor to see them; Show reveals them, and each has Copy. The vault keeps up to 32 earlier passwords per item. Imports from 1Password, Bitwarden and KeePass bring their password history along.

Deleting

Delete at the top right of the editor asks for confirmation and removes the item. There is no trash: if you need it back, it is in your export or backup only if you made one.

Read-only

If the top bar shows read-only on this computer, the editor shows every field but you cannot change anything, and New item, Delete and Save are not offered. See Unlocking and locking.
